Intro To Encaustic
Learn the basics of encaustic painting! In this 2 hour class, participants will explore the basics of encaustic techniques, including layering, mark-making, and surface manipulation. Whether you’re new to the medium or looking to expand your practice, this session offers a supportive environment to experiment and learn.
Encaustic Collage
Use encaustic as a medium to create layered collage works. In this 2 hour class, participants will learn to use encaustic to layer varied collage materials, along with pastels and oil rubs to create a finished piece.
Photo Collage
Use your own photo to create a finished encaustic work. In this two hour class, participants will create a finished encaustic collage using a print of a favorite photo over an abstract encaustic background. We will then use compatible materials to hand color and add details to the piece to complete. Makes a great gift!
Encaustic and Alcohol Inks
Learn how to use alcohol inks on an encaustic surface. In this 2 hour class, students will learn how to manipulate inks in conjunction with encaustic medium to created a multilayered finished piece.

Encaustic Textures
Learn how to create textures with encaustic paint. In this 2 hour class, participants will learn how to build up medium with an accretion technique, carve, scrape back, and scratch into the surface to achieve different results.

Private Lessons and workshops
Details of class (content, date, times) will be determined by buyer and Kate.
Private lessons are $35/hr, plus materials fee based based on content of class. 2, 3, or 4 hour classes available.
